Ultra Modern Rain EP release party for The Early Mornings with special guests Maripool, Cat Rin and one more
London-via-Manchester three-piece The Early Mornings celebrate the release of their sophomore EP ‘Ultra-Modern Rain’ out on Practise Music which shows, once again, their knack for crafting tight and spiky post-punk infused with pop melodies. The EP also shows the group dive headfirst into dynamics - bringing big, distorted noise sections and effortlessly marrying them to cool and distilled no-wave moments. Vocalist Annie Leaders' trademark sardonic singing style shares space with sincerity and seriousness across this infectious EP. It will be released as a special Rough Trade exclusive 12” vinyl, with last year's debut EP on the B-side.
Maripool is the moniker of Lisbon-born, London based songwriter Natacha Simões, a self-described “one girl band” but tonight plays with a full line-up.
THE BAR
Johnny from Fat Dog steps away from the drums and bangs out tunes on guitar and synth.
Cat Rin is a project from South London based, Welsh musician and composer Catrin Mair Robinson. Her music is an exploration of a personal connection to Welsh culture and its traditions, its role in the present day and its future.
