The Sneak Mob Showcase returns, yet again, with its head in its hands. The fifth installment of this wretched series of sacrifices will perhaps redeem ourselves of the atrocities of last, but then again, perhaps it will not.

STARLIGHT MAGIC HOUR

They may have a name like a children’s TV programme but don’t expect anything child friendly from this lot. Having only been together for several months The Starlight Magic Hour have already managed to craft a distinctive sound, pointing towards such a myriad of genres it’s truly indefinable. All conventions are thrown out of the window with this 7-piece; you really don’t know where each song is going next. Provocatively dark lyrics, warped rhythmical clunks and jarring Lou Reed-esque yelps define their unique style. Live shows are a hectic blend of human honesty and acute soundscapes that leaves you wanting more.
