Waterbaby
Waterbaby is the audio-visual project of music producers and filmmakers Martha and Jessica Kilpatrick from Peckham, London. Their work combines avant-garde cinema with experimental choral punk music.
Waterbaby began by showing their audio-visual art works as part of an underground art-collective in gallery spaces across London. Shortly afterwards they moved into a self-built studio in a warehouse in Peckham where they wrote, recorded, produced and mixed their debut album Pink Noise late at night after their day jobs in a casino and psychiatric hospital.
This 14-track album was accompanied by 14 music videos, all filmed by the sisters in their kitchen and screened locally.
Waterbaby use a mixture of influences such as choral music combined with industrial and synth music to create a sonic distorted dream. This goes hand in hand with video and their love of underground art house film.
