New Music Mondays #20 - The Transatlantic Edition
Our popular night of acts and side projects new to the venue. Previous New Music Mondays nights have spawned the likes of The Orchestra (For Now), Little Grandad, Ebbb, Black Fondu. Wing!, thistle, Charlemagne, Wing! and others who are now playing around the city and well beyond.
VICTORYLAND is the Brooklyn-based project of musician Julian McCamman and Dan Howard. Their label debut, My Heart Is A Room With No Cameras In It, released January 2026, via Good English, is a triumphant, despondent, and ultimately fun experimental pop-rock album. My Heart wrangles with heavy subject matter (love, disconnection, sexual frustration, emptiness, etc.), but the terminal statement of the record is about the cleansing nature of pop music.
SUNTRAP - SUNTRAP’s sound renders a sublime encounter between the vivid expanses of the Las Vegas Strip and the direct metronomy of the Autobahn. Melodies brim with luminous arpeggiators and a warm crooner undertone, inviting the listener to oscillate between shadow and light. It is a project that brings together the dual talent of Barcelona producer Martà Canales (Marvin de la Croix), , and Jamie Taylor, whose familiar to many south Londoners from his previous band Phobophobes.
WEAKTEETH - bold, enigmatic blend of bedroom pop, cinematic beats and alt.folk from the west of Wales; listen here
