INDEPENDENT VENUE WEEK 2025 Night #4
It's that time of the year again when we throw a week-long mini festival of some of our most very favourite acts.
The Umlauts is a genre bending collective - that often numbers nine people - known for their multilingual European lyrics and blended influences from club culture. The band channels a frenetic energy through pairing jagged synths and angular guitar riffs with socially charged lyrics. On stage, the band’s ensemble creates an experience that is orchestral and dynamic.
"Leeds' industrial dance band (akin to a Gen Z Throbbing Gristle)" - Pindrop zine
London-based, Cork native Balderdasch is carving out a unique niche with her experimental alt-pop sound. Her debut EP (produced by Pete Wareham of Melt Yourself Down) landed in September 2024 and is a captivating blend of electric guitar, off-kilter samples, and intricate lyricism.
Balderdasch's live performances defie easy comparison. Her immersive live sets often see her smacking hotel bells and singing three-part harmonies with her band members.
