The Windmill presents:
The Rebel, UNIVERSITY, Bathing Suits, Jas Eade
Entry Requirements: 18+
On the last Sunday before Xmas it has become a tradition to have The Rebel's Country Christmas Concert. More sonic madness than country, it's nonetheless the best thing to do ever on the Sunday before Xmas.
THE REBEL - The alter ego of Country Teasers’ Ben Wallers, The Rebel dates back to the tail-end of the 80s—having existed side-by-side throughout Country Teasers’ prolific career—often releasing records at a steadier clip than Waller’s main project with songs too madcap to fit into even their William-Burroughs-by-way-of-The-Residents take on country music.
UNIVERSITY (Stoke) - is a band diving into all of life’s existentialism. An exploration of adolescence, self-identity and slight mania, their upcoming music is “like getting punched in the face by a gorilla but then being cuddled afterwards”. Influenced by artists such as Nouns, Hella, and Cypress Hill, UNIVERSITY sit in their own patchwork world, combining textures both vintage and futuristic.
BATHING SUITS - Leeds based industrial dance icons - a super energetic and totally frantic live show, as evidenced here recently when they supported Prostitute
JAS EADE - sardonic country songs from that guy in House Arrest, Ringards etc
DJ: Twisted am Lounge - playing all the country greats: Parton, Paycheck, Lynn, Fulks Frizzell, Wynette and Jones.
